Ah, success!

So last Saturdays game was quite a success. We had a turn out of 24 people, so three tables of 8, and the environment was extremely laid back and such a blast! I dealt the main table while the other two tables dealt for themselves until we condensed to 2 tables and Drake dealt with me. We threw in a nice hour dinner break around 6pm which everyone appreciated and I got to chat with some of our new players. Everyone new seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what they were doing (always relieving!) and everyone seemed to be really happy with our new poker room. Its gorgeous! Sometimes I go down there just to hang out now :)

Friday Cash game and Saturday, $100 Tourney

The cash game was AWESOME! The first time we have installed the .50/1 blinds and it went really well. We had about 12 players throughout the night, usually the table had 8 at it at a time. Lots of aggression, TONS of huge pots. We stocked the fridge with a zillion kinds of beer and ordered up some pizzas and everyone seemed to have a really great time. I can tell this game is going to be great throughout the winter. Nice cozy room with TVs and great music, beer pizza and tons of money being tossed around? Does it get better than that?  So as for the tournament, we ended up with 17 players which is way less than we wanted, but what can you do? We all had a great time playing, and I feel like in these long tournaments we all really get to play to our best ability, as in if you get a bad beat, you still have time and chips to make it back, its not the end of the world. The grossest part of the night was when Scott FINALLY got a good amount of chips after folding for the last year and 1/2, and he re raises Mike on his right with AKh, and Mike calls him with A7s and gets the running flush to take him out. So close to the money to. Ah, such is poker, no? Hopefully we'll get more bigger tourneys going. This one was mostly for the sake of raising money for our new chips (which we totally didnt get enough for because we needed more players to reach our goal! BOO to those who didnt come!) but in the future, it will be sick!

AAARGH!

Okay, time for a complaint. I really appreciate K9Poker and all for giving me this site to find new players, I really do. I have actually met some very nice people off of here. Yes you, Sean Allston, and You Mike D, are very nice, fun people and I am glad I have met you both! (I am sure to meet several more... at least I hope!) But lately, I am getting really frustrated. K9 is nice enough to give me space to blog about games that have happened and give updates, and it gives me a place to announce the games that I host, and it even gives me a little space to tell how the games run and such. This, is not the problem.

Cash and Saturday Review:

Cash Game was a lot of fun this week. We got the brand new (and super expensive I might add) Paulson chips in and used them for the first time. They are absolutely gorgeous! They need to be broken in a bit, still very rigid, but the color schemes and such are perfect. Had 2 tables going for a short while, and probably had a total of 20 players come through throughout the night which was really decent. Game wrapped up at about 2am (pretty early I think!) but there was lots of money thrown about and everyone seemed to have a good time.  So today we were supposed to have the shoot out, but we didnt have enough people for three full tables to make it actually work, so we just had a regular tournament with a double stack (4,000 in chips). It was a really nice get to know you tournament, considering we had a lot of newbies. The game finished right before the Sox game and Scott won, so no complaints here!

ATTN: PEEPS WHO WANT TO PLAY IN MY GAME!

PLEASE READ BEFORE SENDING ME AN EMAIL!!!!! I have written this once before, but you guys just dont hear me.  One last time: PLEASE when requesting to play in my game remember to tell me your name! If you are too freaked out to give me your name, what makes you think I would want to tell you where I LIVE? And while youre there telling me your name, tell me your number too! Then read when I have games, and tell me what game you are thinking about participating in! Maybe include a few things about yourself... where youre from, how old you are, what you do! If this is too much to ask, then go find another game! I just tend to want to keep it friendly and fun and comfortable. No weirdos please! So far, I have had great luck on here, so keep it up! Just know if youre sending messages like "Want in your games. Where do you live?" I am just going to delete you. But those whom are willing to give me some info and be cool? HELL YES I want you to come! The ATM is just too far a walk for me! (HAHA, just kidding!) Talk to  you soon, and see you on the felt!

Update!

Wow, the tournaments lately have been doing really well! Last night (Tuesday) was a lot of fun. We were booked to maximum capacity and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. I didnt do so well, but what can you do? I think the winter is going to be really nice this year because our poker room is so warm and comfortable. Yay for poker! If only I could start winning.... I've been on a really cold streak lately. I went to Foxwoods on Monday, played 4 hands, and got murdered by a royal flush. What can you do when you flop queens full? Ugh.   The cash game on Friday went really well too. We had a good turn out and I love dealing it. The hands get really juicy and the game plays out so aggressively. Its a nice change from the tournaments. .50/1 has been a lot of fun, so I am thinking about adding a 1/2 game on Wednesdays. Just for those who feel like throwing around a little extra money... why not? I'd like to turn it into a very regular game, so please, lets get this party started!!

Cash Game Frenzy!

Soooooooo.... things have been going extremely well lately. Our Wednesday game has been taking off quite smoothly, and we have had some great action going into the wee hours of the morning! It was crazy when the new guy John came to play, hit quads 2 times, and had full houses left and right. Talk about a sick run of cards! Fridays have been crazy lately! Always 2 full tables going extremely late! We have a really great crew of people that come, and the last new person that came was literally in wow. I think its mostly because our poker room is so much different from the typical place to play. Extremely fun, friendly atmosphere where friends get together and (hopefully) can make some good money.  Yes, people love to win, and get angry when they lose, but its not the uncomfortable, stiff "I dont know you, you dont know me, so lets slit each others throats" kind of place. What a girlie thing to say, eh?

The HDTV is here!!!

Today we bought a really nice 42" HDTV and we're setting it up in the poker room. It's gonna be sweet! Just think: Patriots, Sox, Celtics, what have you in HD while you play poker. Does it really get any better than that? Last weekend we had the $10 frenzy, and boy was it a frenzy! People were going all in left and right, by the end of the night there were over 180,000 in chips on the table! Ridiculous? Yes. Fun? Definitely. Certainly not your typical game. Next Saturday we're having an Omaha Hi/Low game, our first ever. Should be a lot of fun, let me know if you want in!

Saturday 2/9 Tournament Update

So last Saturday we had our $100 + $10 NLTH Tournament. We had 24 players, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Here are the standings:1st: Luke $9602nd: Paul L $5503rd: Joe 2 $3854th: Ben  $2905th: Steve $215 Congrats all! Bubble boy was Phil, but he took down the last big money tournament, so I dont feel that bad for him. I dealt it like usual, but had Archana and a new girl named Patty's help, so it worked out really well. The stacks by the end were ridiculous! No huge suck outs or crazy hands to report, the game played fairly straight forward. Makes me kind of wish I had jumped in on the action! We havent planned out a new Saturday tournament yet, but I will post it as soon as it is decided on. Any suggestions?

Sketch Balls Need Not Apply!

Hahaha, just as the title says, if you're sketchy, why are you putting yourself in public places? Hole yourself up, get your meals delivered, and please. PLEASE, never leave your house! In the beginning when I started posting on here, I found some really great players that have become great friends of the house. I was so excited about the new players, I thought hey, why not grab a few more? So what did I get?
